2023年、夏。
東日本大震災後、人のいなくなった街の解体直前の時計屋で、私は一本の枯れ木と出会った。
12年間ずっとこの場所にいた木は、白骨化したように真っ白な状態で被曝していた。
私と数名でこの木を救出した。
現在この木は別の場所で保管されているが、放射能濃度が高いため簡単に人前に出すことはできない。
私は、この枯れ木についての作品を作ることにした。
Summer 2023.
After the Great East Japan Earthquake, I found a dead tree in a watch shop in a deserted town.
The tree had been in the same place for 12 years,
but had been exposed to radiation, turning completely white and resembling a skeleton.
A few others and I rescued the tree.
The tree is currently stored in a different location, but due to the high level of radiation, it cannot be easily displayed to the public.
I decided to create an artwork using this dead tree as the subject.

ステートメント
私は記憶の継承に関心を持ち制作している。
2011年の東日本大震災以降は、福島という土地と、そこで起きた福島第一原子力発電所事故に焦点を当ててきた。
あの場所で今起きている出来事と、そこで暮らす人々が過去に経験してきた時間の積み重ねを、
絵画、インスタレーション、パフォーマンスとして展開していくことで、それが単なる作品ではなく過去と記憶を経験する媒体になり得るのではないかと、模索している。
statement
I am interested in the inheritance of memories, and I create works that focus on the land of Fukushima and the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident that occurred there since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. I explore whether by presenting current events and the accumulated experiences of the people who live there in the form of paintings, installations and performances, they can become more than just works of art, but a medium for experiencing the past and memories.
